New Client Facebook Ad Accounts
Facebook has begun adding layers of security to their verification process as a result of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Below outlines the steps we need to take to ensure we get verified to run ads in a timely manner.

Step 1 - Client Business Manager
Every client must have their own "Business Manager" account that needs to be connected to Blueprint's Business Manager. If we've already run ads for you in 2019 you can skip to Step 2.
If you have a Business Manager Account
If you already have a business manager account, please send your Facebook Business ID to your Blueprint Team. They will initiate a request and you will then approve it from Facebook.

If you don't have a Business Manager Account
Steps below can help you set up your Business Manager Account. If you have any questions Facebook has resources here or you can reach out to your Blueprint account manager for assistance.
- Go to business.facebook.com
- Click Create Account.
- Enter a name for your business, select the primary Page and enter your name and work email address.
- Enter your information in the rest of the required fields.
- Once complete please send your Business ID which should be in the URL string to your account manager(s).
Step 2 - Page Verification
All PAGES that will be used to run political or issue advocacy ads will need to go through this verificaiton. Whoever does this on your team should be someone who is permanently on staff as the verification will be tied to his/her Facebook account. (If the individual leaves the organization we will need to do the verification process again.)
Before you begin:
- Please make sure your Blueprint account team is given administrative access to your page. For more information on how to do this click here
- Ensure the person who submits the verification for the page be verified as an individual and has 2-factor authentication set up.
- Click here for information on how to begin the individual verification process. You will need a valid form of ID to get started. This process can take up to 2 weeks
- Click here for information on how to enable 2-factor authentication.
- Gather this information:
- Organization Website
- Email Address (you must have access to this and it must match the website)
- Phone Number (you must have access to this and it will appear in the Ads Library)
- Additional Information
- FEC ID
- EIN
- W-9
Start the Authorization Process
- Once you have collected this information go to your Page > Settings > Authorizations
- Select the organization type you wish to do.
- **NOTE** If you choose the FEC route the information, including website url and email address, must match what the FEC has on file EXACTLY
- For speed we typically recommend using the "Other" option
- Fill out required fields and follow the prompts.
- Facebook will call and email you with a code. Please make sure to have access to the phone number and the email as you go through the process.
- After submitting please notify your Blueprint team and we will check to make sure the verification went through properly and complete the process by tying it to our ad account. (This can take 24 hours.)
