Job Description

Are you motivated by progressive causes and creating website designs that drive, inspire, and propel action? Do you like creating intuitive and beautiful interfaces for web apps?

We’re looking for a motivated and creative UI/UX Designer to join our Creative Team through the 2026 election cycle.

The hiring process for this role will consist of an initial interview with our Operations team, a portfolio review and/or sample work test, a final interview with the VP of Creative, references and then an offer. We plan to begin interviews on June 25th, 2026.

This is a cycle role that runs through November 30th, 2026. We have a hybrid schedule with an optional 2 days per week in our sunny Dupont Circle office. We are only able to consider applications from individuals based in and legally authorized to work in the United States.

As a part of our creative team you would

  • Working in collaboration with the Creative Director, the development team, and the accounts team, create moodboards, wireframes, and designs that reflect the information gathered during the Discovery phase and codified in the Requirements Document
    • Projects would include landing pages, websites, and web apps for candidates, advocacy organizations, and non-profit organizations
  • Assist with turning client requirements into requirements documents and briefs
  • Participate in client meetings to understand their needs, goals, and challenges; presenting your work
  • Design graphics for websites, social media, emails, and ad-serving platforms
  • Collaborate with the rest of the creative team, contributing to brainstorms and reviewing peers’ work, as appropriate

You would be a great fit if you have

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, color, typography, and composition
  • Make informed design decisions and justify the rationale
    • Why did you place the element where you did vs. someplace else? Why did you choose these fonts or color palette?
  • Create new designs based off of existing work and brand guides
  • Create new designs without a brand guide
  • Take minimal brand guides (colors, fonts, and a logo) and innovate, developing them further into more robust design systems
  • Create and edit with both vector graphics and raster images
  • Juggle multiple tasks/assignments at the same time
  • Organize your work and manage your time effectively
  • Communicate effectively and collegially with colleagues and clients
  • Pay extraordinary attention to detail
  • Have the desire and willingness to explore and master new programs, including AI-assisted programs, that help us do our work better and more effectively
  • Want to take the lead helping to push our web design practice forward.
  • Are willing to put in that extra time and effort: sometimes we have to work longer days or on weekends, especially during campaign seasons.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Figma
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

A bonus but not required:

  • Experience creating political or issue-based videos for digital and TV 
  • Experience resizing videos for different , audio correction/mixing, color correction
  • Project management experience

Compensation

The base salary band for this position is $60,000-$65,000 per year. In order to counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity, salaries are non-negotiable. We also offer a competitive comprehensive benefits package:
